Paul Kannowski
Paul Kannowski was born in Grand Forks in 1927 and served as chair of biology from 1963-1970, and 1982-1988. His scientific work included ants following in the tradition of the Wheelers. He was the editor of The Prairie Naturalist from 1968 to 1994. His love of the prairie and wildflowers led to his book, "Wildflowers of North Dakota", in 1989.
